I bought my Nokia 3300 back in November 2003. Although My old good Nokia 5100 still worked, I wanted to replace my broken www.iRiver.com iMP 350 by something less breakeable. There was not too many choices by that time. I had to choose between Nokia 3300 and n-Gage. The second one was quite too large to store in the pocket - which is what I usually do with my cell phone - so I bought 3300. It also came with 64MB MMC instead of n-Gage's 32MB MMC. To be honest 64MB is not enough so I would be really mad with 32.

Memory

3300 uses Multimedia Memory Card placed underneath the battery. Usually sold with 64MB. At least in the Czech republic. Thru the USB cable (sold with the phone) You get acces to files on the Memory Card where You can store pretty much whatever You want. Of course MP3s will be possible to play.

IDtags

Working but You can not set it by Your self. For example iRiver let Me to switch between ID3tag ON or OFF. On display then appears just the filename of MP3 which is played at the time.

Fast Scan

Simply way too slow. It allows You to make two 5 seconds long jumps per second. Whenever You turn the phone off player is going to lost ending point. It starts on track 01. If You have long solid MP3 (nonstop mix) You have to hold Fast Forwarard button for a long time to get where You ended. If You are able to find it by yourself of course.

Headset

Headset just sucks! Why? Because the clipless connector is the worst junk they could ever made up. It does not hold the headset connected to the phone unless You are standing still. Every time I put the phone into my pocket it falls apart. Forget to keep the phone in Your pocket while You are listening to the music.

Headset Improovment

Everybody who have ever listened to headphones KOSS Porta Pro must admit that usual earphones on headsets are not eligible to listening to the music. I know it's O.K. for calling on the phone. But what producer forget was to look around how do other pro's in branch solve their remotes. Standard 3.5 inch jack would be decent instead of wires directly into the earphones.

Sound Quality

The player dosn't like recorded fade outs. Low signal levels irritates it to strange digital noises. It seems like it's seting some kind of automatic volume control. If volume level of an MP3 is high enough it sounds pretty good though. Volume is set discontinuously on 10 degrees of volume.
